OnePlus 9RT discovered in BIS listings as the ‘OnePlus RT’? What this may signify
OnePlus announced the OnePlus 9RT smartphone in China in October this year, and a month later, we are yet to see the phone arrive in India. However, a recent rumor on the topic claims we may finally see the OnePlus 9RT arrive to India, albeit with a different moniker.
Twitter tipster Mukul Sharma (@stufflistings) informed out that the OnePlus 9RT has been listed on the BIS website as the OnePlus RT. The phone was observed with the model number OP5154L1. The fact that it was noticed on the BIS site shows that a launch is likely, although the missing ‘9’ in the name does raise a few problems.
Will it be dubbed the ‘OnePlus RT’?
OnePlus has a defined branding strategy in India, where the phone sells models under its number series in the luxury sector and the Nord-series in the mid-range segment. However, a smartphone branded the OnePlus RT wouldn’t belong in any of those categories, and the commencement of a new series entirely at this moment seems doubtful.
That said, we should know more about the debut of the phone once OnePlus officially announces it in the nation, which shouldn’t be too far from now.
